Kelly + Tim’s Our Lady of Hope Church & Water’s Edge Wedding – NYC

As the business grows and continues to gain traction, I find myself having more and more fun at weddings.  And I think it’s b/c we do a better job of connecting with our clients and getting to know them.  And when I met Kelly & Tim, I knew they would be a great client for us.  Kelly & Tim are such great people!  B/c of their kind hearts and calm & cool personalities, I really felt like we connected and really really really wanted to hit a home run for them with the photos (and video).

And on their wedding day, b/c of the super hot day, they could have easily been grumpy, but they weren’t!  It was over 90 degrees outside!   They were so chill and enjoyed every single moment of their day!  And it’s weddings like these, that really remind me that I love what I do.  Their families and all their friends are super amazing and fun!  I mean, who brings bagpipe players to their wedding?  So much fun!

Thank you Kelly & Tim for having us as your wedding photographer and cinematographer!!

(Stay Tuned, tomorrow, for their highlight reel)

Supermoon Lunar Eclipse – BloodMoon – September 27, 2015

So much like many people in the world, I spent several hours, last night, staring up at the moon and stars to enjoy the beautiful supermoon lunar eclipse.  I tried to post a couple photos to Instagram and Facebook, but the quality was TERRIBLE!!!  Their compression algorithm really killed the quality of the photos and did not do any justice for the photos.  So that’s where this blog post comes in.

But first, just a little background.  According to iflscience.com, “…the Moon will reach its closest point to Earth (known as a supermoon) at the same time as it undergoes an eclipse, the first such alignment since 1982 – and the last until 2033.

During the event, when the Sun will be directly behind us in respect to the Moon, the lunar surface will appear a deep red color. Lunar eclipses are fairly common, with 16 occurring this century already, but only five supermoon eclipses have taken place since 1900.”

So, I’m not much of an astro-photographer.  I’ve photographed a couple starry nights here and there while out in Utah, Arizona and New Mexico.  So I’m familiar with some of the techniques, but I’m by no means an expert.  All I really had my was my camera, a long lens and a tripod.  I will admit that I did make some mistakes here and there, so may notice some inconsistencies in the photos.  But here is a series of photos that I took of the moon, going through its eclipse, from my home in NY.
