engagement shoot finalists – lindsay & jason
Please meet our next engagement shoot contest finalists Lindsay and Jason! Lindsay and Jason are hoping to show their love for each other and for sailing in the their engagement photographs. They’d liked their shoot to be at the yacht club where Lindsay first learned to sail. Doesn’t this playful concept on the water sound fun? To vote for Lindsay and Jason simply click here and write their names on the post in the comments section. Please only one vote per reader.
Be sure to check back in with us throughout the rest of February and early March to read more about our other finalists. We will feature each couple throughout the voting period, which ends Sunday, March 11. And don’t forget! Our winner will be announced Thursday, March 15!

How did you and your fiance meet?
Remember good old AOL Instant Messenger (AIM)? Well, in college, I used AIM to communicate with my friends and sailing teammates religiously. Jason and I had had a few passing flirtations on and off the water during sailing practice, but nothing more. One day he accidentally left some sailing gear in the back of my car, and I messaged him to come get it. The next day, some of my roommates made Diet Coke cake (a box of Betty Crocker yellow cake mix + 1 can of Diet Coke = surprising goodness). I of course put up an AIM status about the Diet Coke cake, and Jason, who lived nearby, boldly asked if he could come pick up his gear and try the cake. I of course said yes, as I thought he was super cute! We ended up chatting all afternoon, skipping all our classes, and finding a million things that we had in common. A few nights later at a Hawaiian-themed fraternity party, he finally made a move…and the rest is history.
How did he propose?
Jason proposed at our apartment, in bed on a Sunday morning…ring-less. I didn’t believe him at first, when he asked me to marry him. But then I saw the serious and anxious look on his face and suddenly realized it was real and burst into tears. The rest of the day was spent crying, laughing, and double checking that he was still serious. We designed my ring together and it was made by my a close friend (and bridesmaid)’s father in law, which was extra special. All I l know is, 7.5 years was worth the wait!
Why should readers vote for your idea?
We both want to win this gift so badly. And in all honesty, if we don’t win this, we probably won’t do engagement photos. I secretly have been wanting to do an engagement shoot, but feel they’re typically so STIFF looking… and when I saw this contest, and the fact it was all about a different, fun & original ideas for a shoot – I suddenly REALLY wanted to do one! Because that’s us – we’re fun and original, and I need a photographer who can bring that out in each of us when we’re in front of the camera. Looking at Esvy’s style and portfolios, I think if we win this contest we’d be able to capture some truly memorable photos that show who we are, together.
