Patricia & Rory’s Wedding – Talmadge Hill Community Church & Waveny House

Whenever planning a wedding, you’re always have to keep Mother Nature in mind. In the days leading up to Patricia and Rory’s wedding, Rory and I exchanged a couple messages expressing our concerns about heavy rain forecasted for the day of their wedding. I even went out to Target and bought 2 big umbrellas, just in case. And just our luck, there was no rain!! Thankfully! Yes, it was overcast, but at least we didn’t get wet! And the clouds made it much easier for me to capture the wedding! So for all the stress, everything turned out wonderfully!

It was definitely one of the more fun weddings to photograph. I mean, you know it’s fun when the best man, during his speech, breaks out a 48×48 inch portrait of the groom from when he was 7 or 8 years old! 😛 And when Rory’s family breaks out into song and his uncle does a solo act for 3 songs to get the crowd fired up! These families know how to have fun!

And when you see Patricia & Rory together, everything just seems to work perfectly! They are truly a great couple!

Caitlin & Fred’s St. John Church & Wee Burn Country Club Wedding

Classy. Classic. Fun! That is how I would describe Caitlin & Fred’s Wedding. From Caitlin’s elegant dress, to the well tailored tuxes, to the cute church, to the classic country club, their wedding was the poster child for classy New England weddings. Photographing their wedding was a true pleasure. The day moved at a steady pace. Rarely were we super rushed, allowing us to capture some wonderful photos throughout the day. And their families were also a great pleasure to work with. Nothing but great smiles, all day long!!

Friends and Family, that’s what it’s all about, right? Surrounding yourself the people that love and care for one another. That’s what makes a wedding day special. In photographing Kara & Leon’s wedding, you can easily tell that friends and family were the most important thing. Kara & Leon even had a close friend officiate the ceremony. And throughout the evening everyone shared their favorite stories and memories. Everyone clearly cherished the special day. Nothing was taken for granted. Neethu & Jophiel’s Wedding – St. Joseph’s Church & Villa Lombardi’s – Long Island Wedding Photographer

Every now and then, you meet someone, a couple, or a family that just ooze of character and integrity. You can just feel that they will do the right thing and treat you with kindness and respect. That’s the impression that I got when I met both Neethu, Jophiel and their families. With over 500 people at their wedding, our team could have easily been pulled a thousand different directions, but the day went pretty smoothly, thanks, in part, to the lovely ladies at Honey Bells Events and the kindness, patience and love of their families.

During the wedding, everyone extolled nothing but love and praise for the happy couple and our team learned that Jophiel is a bona-fide war hero earning the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Our team was truly humbled and honored to have had the privilege to be a part of their wedding. Hearing the stories makes you really appreciate how important and special a wedding day is to the couple and family.

We are truly thankful to have such great couples!

Nicole & Matt’s Wedding – St. John The Baptist & East Wind Inn – Long Island Wedding Photographer

Anyone who has been married will tell you that your wedding day goes by in a blink. Some couples worry about the details and other just have fun and soak in everything. Nicole & Matt would be the latter. They are a super cool, laid back couple who loves one another and just REALLY enjoyed their wedding day. You can tell they had A LOT of fun by the endless smiles in all the photos! And not only are they laid back, but super talented by surprising their guests with a musical performance. Nicole on drums and Matt on vocals and guitar! I mean, come on… How many brides have you seen rock out on drums, in their wedding dress?!?!

Seta & Peter’s Wedding – Marina Del Rey, NYC

For all the effort and planning that goes into a wedding, the one thing that you cannot control is Mother Nature. You can plan some contingencies for her, but, in the end, she’s the boss. For Seta & Peter, everything was meticulously planned out, but Mother Nature decided to drop a whole lot of rain on their wedding day. But that didn’t affect them. This wonderful couple made the most of it and rolled with the punches. And for they were rewarded with a beautiful rainbow!

Hawaii’s Big Island

If you follow us on Instagram (and if you’re not, shame on you 😛 just joking.), you probably noticed that a few weeks ago, our lead photographer was in Hawaii, working on a corporate project. Some really nice photos were posted to Instagram. But in case you missed out, here are couple of the beautiful landscapes that were photographed, not with a cell phone. Interestingly, if you’re a camera nerd, all but 1 of these photos was taken with our new compact, mirrorless camera which is essentially a point and shoot camera. We can control our settings, but it’s not very easy. Why am I using a small mirrorless camera? Honestly, I got tired of traveling with my big and heavy dSLR.

I loved it so much that we are now considering expanding to Hawaii! Anyone have any friends looking for a wedding photographer for their destination wedding in Hawaii?

And a big shout out to our friends at Constell Media who invited us on this trip to Hawaii. And to be honest, with some of these photos the button was probably pressed by someone with Constell Media.
