My fiance and I are SUPER outdoorsy. We love to go fishing, swimming, you name it, we do it. For engagement photos, I wanted to go out fishing (although this was also part of my idea for wedding photos – rain boots with the dress on, completely different from my fancy shoes). Anything quirky and fun will always do =)
My perfect place for a shoot would have to be on a sail boat. They are so beautiful to look at, and have amazing possibilities for beautiful pictures.
This is a second marriage for the both of us and our children are a very important part of our lives…
I would love to capture our bond as a blended family and at the same time our love and commitment to each other.
So I was thinking… the kids playing “Ring Around the Rosie” with us in the middle of the circle while he’s on one knee.
We would love a photo shoot at Chelsea Piers, in NY. My fiance and I always went there when we were first dating and it is a great place for pictures. We will both wear coordinating colors maybe like blues or yellows. Taking pictures on the boardwalk next to the water shows our continuing love for each other. We also love to work out and run on the Pier. So it can be like a cat and mouse game, flirty, fun photo shoot. Thank you.
Our wedding is meant to invoke the grandeur of The Great Gatsby era. We are not into cheesy flappers and corny gangster 1920’s imagery. Rather we are inspired by the opulence and extravagance of the time. We are getting married at The de Serversky Mansion in Old Westbury which is one of Long Island’s Gold Coast mansions from this era. Our photo shoot should play into these themes. I would love to see pictures of us at prohibition era speakeasy or jazz club. An outdoor shoot on a boardwalk a la Boardwalk Empire could be great too.
My fiancee proposed to me in Grand Central, and I proposed to her in front of the Washington Square Arch where we met on our first date, six years ago. I’d love to have our engagement photos incorporate those two NYC landmarks, as well as others. We love our adopted city!
Bronx Zoo! Animals + cool architecture/spaces/statues/etc. = a really fun shoot.
My fiancé and I Love the glitz and glamour lifestyle. We would love to do a shoot with a red carpet and a backdrop with our names on it and the place where we are getting married which is Floral Terrace. We want the papparazzi feel with the flashing lights. We are the stars at our shoot type thing.
My fiance and I love the water & the beach. He grew up on the bay & loves everything about it. I would love to do a shoot on a empty beach maybe on the north shore of Long Island just the two of us & maybe even have our 1 year old lab puppy in a few shots as well. Just something very understated & simple.. i think its nice to use nature as the back drop of photos it just looks beautiful no matter what.
My fiancé and I have will be together for 4 years on valentines day. He proposed to me on 11.11.11 at the River View Cafe in Brooklyn. It sits right at the foot of the Brooklyn bridge. It has an magnificent view of the city. It was a breathtaking proposal. We would love to have our engagement pictures taken around the city or Brooklyn area of where we got engaged. It really is a romantic place.
My fiance and I are kids at heart, ask anyone. Our ideal engagement photo shoot would be down at this beautiful pond right by our home. There are old fashion white stone bridges and trees. Just across the street is a marina with all different boats and wooden docks. In the spring there are tons of ducks and swans there. We would love to have a photo shoot of us feeding the ducks. I love candidate photos and I want our phoot shoot to be all about having fun and laughing.
My fiancee is a Bronxite born & raised and I am from the East San Francisco Bay in California, so I would love to take engagement pics at a location like Concrete Plant Park on the Bronx River to visually represent the way our two different paths have come together so beautifully!
Anywhere on the beach or on the water!! Anything fun =)
my Fiance and I live on long island; we love driving to the city whenever we have time. Most of the time we’ll just go for dinner and drive back home and it’s amazing how much fun we have together. In november we decided to take a ride out there to see the tree… little did I know that as we are strolling through central park, he knew all along that was where he wanted to propose. And he did!! On November 26, 2011. For our “engagement anniversary” we want to go back to that same spot and relive the best day of our relationship thus far. I would LOVE to setup a photoshoot and have professional pictures taken there so that we don’t have to drive all the way over there to relive the experience.
My fiance and I recently moved down by the ocean and we are obsessed with everything nautical and beach themed. Most of our apartment is full of lighthouses, sailboats, and seashells. We spend our down town walking the white sandy beach in our backyard. I am dying to do an engagement shoot sometime this winter on the beach by a lighthouse. I can just picture us both on the beach in peacoats, fisherman sweaters, and rainboots! I think it would really capture this chapter of our life together.
Hello Esvy! I am in love with this contest idea. Here’s my creative engagement shoot concept: My fiancé Jason and I met on our college sailing team and are getting married in Amagansett, NY on Oct 6. In fact, we are getting married at the yacht club where I learned to sail. I’d like to recreate our flirtation on the water by taking out the yacht clubs’ little boats (that I learned to sail on!), donning those silly orange life jackets, and going for a romantic (and humorous) sail together, perhaps at sunset, which is the most beautiful time of day there. The playfulness of the event, and the involvement of the very activity that brought us together, would be a perfect way to capture what we’re all about.
My fiancé and I are both working professionals trying to save up for our big day. We have chosen to wait until October 2013 to wed because the way we look at it, we are only going to be married once so we want to enjoy our engagement to the fullest! We both love the water and love manhattan. South street seaport would just be an amazing location for our engagement photos because there is so much to see and do. The location over looks Brooklyn and all the bridges and it would be the perfect back drop to the bridging of our lives together.
I would either have a shoot of us playing board games because that is how we met. Maybe on port jeff pier where he proposed to me.
My fiance and I have a love of craft beer and have been trying to put together an engagement shoot that would show our love for one another over our love for beer. We would love to be photographed at a Long Island brewery (there are several to choose from!) brewing beer, tasting beer and perhaps picking hops/grains/ingredients (if possible). Not only would a photo shoot covering us at brewery be different but it will definitely be fun! I would love to see Esvy make something that’s creative but messy, glamorous and lovely!
I think a great idea for an engagement photo shoot would be at a vintage winery. Great shots : grape field shots, shots with the wine barrels or in the wine cellar, also the beautiful vintage look of the rustic wood interior of the winery.
Second idea would be in a woodsie area with interesting trees, you could take shots with the couples hiding behind the trees or the bride sitting perched on branch and looking down at the groom, could also photoshop a carved heart on the tree, very cute, romantic, enchanted love kind of feeling.
My idea for our engagement shoot is to retrace our 1st (at Union Square (Big Daddy’s & the park) & 2nd date (at the Brooklyn Bridge Pier & Park). While on our 2nd date, we had some Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory ice cream and walked around the Brooklyn Bridge Park. We would also like pictures by the LOVE sculpture on 6th Avenue. The named places hold a special place in our hearts 🙂
We would love to do a new York skyline photoshoot. My fiancé, Joseph, proposed to me at The View in Times Square. The restaurant spins that way you get a 360 view of the NYC skyline. There’s nothing more romantic to us than that. It’s so elegant and fun. We are both very fun people and try not to take life so seriously because when you do, you tend to miss out on the beautiful aspects of life. So along with the gorgeous background, we would love for the portraits to portray our fun relationship that shows how not only are we in love, but that we are each others best friends.
My fiance and I are both teachers and coaches who love sports. We met coaching volleyball together. I would love to have an engagement shoot at the different places we have shared our love of sports- at the schools gym where we met, at Robert Moses where we play beach volleyball, or in our backyard playing competitive pool basketball.
For our engagement shoot we would love to go to the Sands Point Preserve in Port Washington NY. The landscape is absolutely beautiful; there are multiple trails to go through the woods while the Hempstead House stands tall in a gigantic field that overlooks the water. Also on the estate is the Faliase that was built for harry Gugenheim. My fiance and i love to go places that are monumental in any and everyone’s lives such as the zoos and aquarium (he proposed after a day at the New York Aqurarium in Coney Island). One of the things we can agree on is to have pictres taken at this site to capture our love for eachother as well as the historic beauty that still resonates in this property.
Well since I’m in Love with the holiday season and all the beautiful lights in the city during christmas we decided to have a Winter Wonderland wedding. We also have a 3 year old son that loves walking around the city and going into all the stores so I think it would be a great idea (i know theres only a short period of time to do it) but, photos in the city, with all the lights and snow (if possible), Couple photos, family photos…. Can’t beat NYC during the holidays. Best place to be in the world, best place to make amazing memories and take unbelievable photos!
I really want to do a 50s themed engagement shoot. I think my fiance in a suit and hat and me in a cute dress holding an apple pie would be adorable!
I would love to have a little red ridinghood themed photoshoot with our shepherd mix dog!
My fiance’ and I met through fate. He is an avid bowler and my brother and myself bowl as well. So my fiance’ and my brother bowled together and that was when we first saw each other. From there we continued to run into each other at various bowling allies which made our conversations much more relaxed since we shared a common interest. We also found out that we attended the same university, St. John’s. Our love today has expanded over the last four years from these two point of our lives and now we are preparing to start the next chapter of our lives by celebrating our marriage.
For our photoshoot, if chosen, we were thinking that we would love to either have it done at a bowling alley, where we first met. Many allies are spacious and allow ample space to get creative with the shots. It would be really cool if we could do the shoot at St. John’s University also. The campus is large and has beautiful grounds, and plenty of good opprotunity for great photos to be taken, especially on the great lawn or even in the church with the stained glass windows 🙂
My fiance and I would love to do an engagement shoot set in the 1940’s. We think it would be so much fun to dress up and take candid photos. We always talk about how we would love to reenact the famous photo of the sailor and nurse kissing on the street celebrating the end of world war 2.
My fiancé is a Marine so during our shoot he could wear his dress blues or his Bravos (uniform) and I would like to wear a flawy, be achy, yet formal dress. I would love our shoot to be on our special beach. This is where so many of our important conversations took place, especially the one where he told me he loved me! THat night, he had me meet him there and I found him by way of sparklers. It lead me to a picnic blanket where I found a bouquet of gerber daisies (my favorite), sushi, and best of all .. HIM! As we watched shooting stars o by he began to tell me how much he loved me. I’d love to recreate this scene for some of our shoot. It was one of my favorite times with him (besides when he proposed!) and there are many other photo ops at this gorgeous location. Boulders in the middle of the water to pose on, etc. I’m a surfer so a beach shoot would be great, but I’m always open to different ideas! We want our shoot fun and creative. Like noone has ever seen 🙂
My fiance and I love the sunset time. I would like a shoot where we are both kissing and the sunset happening behind us. That would be great 🙂
We also love eating so it will be nice if our shoot would be at our favorite restaurant.
My fiance’ is a carpenter and I am a cook. We both take great pride in our areas of expertise as well as the tools we use. I would love a shoot where I am in his workshop cutting on his table saw and in my kitchen having him whip up a sauce. My fiance’ is 6’1″ and I am 4’9″ so I would also love to incorporate our height difference. He once put me up on a spackle bucket to kiss me and has since called me “Bucket Queen”.
Hello Esvy Photography, my fiance and i are having a 1940’s inspired wedding, complete with vintage entertainment and a brass band. We would love to incorporate that era into our Engagement shoot! My love for that time stems from being raised by my grandparents. Old movies were a staple in my childhood television viewing. I fell in love with the glamour, as well as the simplicity of the time often portrayed in movies of that era. We would love for our marriage to be like those of our grandparents: a simple 1940’s kind of love. That is what we would like to cary through into our engagement shoot. I think what makes my fiance and I unique, is our versatility, and enthusiasm. We are up for anything! I can envision doing the shoot in a historical local, like playful Cony Island, or the drama of an old New York theatre. Perhaps even a simple vintage picnic set in the beautiful Planting Fields Arboretum. I would love to incorporate some vintage family heirlooms into the shoot. The great thing about our theme is that it is very versatile. We are willing to go the full fledged “Hollywood Glam” route, or the more laid back vintage route. We are confident that these pictures will come out beautifully, and really showcase our personalities. Good luck to all the brides and grooms, may the best idea win! Congratulations on your upcoming marriages 🙂
My fiance and I have known each other since the first grade and grew up together in church. We would love to take our engagement photos on the original church grounds where we met and spent most of our childhood and early adult years together. We would also love to incorporate our differnt personalities in our photos. My fiance is a professional fitness trainer and I am a pharmacist. We are complete opposites in every possible way. It would be so much fun to depict that in the photos. =)
Hello. Me an my fiance love bowling and the outdoors. We are having a summer romantic wedding in June of this year. We have a six year old so our engagement photos would have our daughter in it. I am a paralegal and my fiance is a bus driver. We are opposites yet the same. We met in a bowling league. we both weren’t suppose to bowl that year but ended up bowling and the first night of bowling we hit if off. Of course I beat him the first game and then he beat me the second and third. I love winery and he loves sports.. It would be cool to have a little of both. Not sure how but I believe anything is possible.
My fiance is a NYC firefighter. I would love to do an engagement shoot in the firehouse. We could take pictures on the trucks, dressed up in his gear which has his last name on the back, or even him rescuing me using the big ladder. He is proud of his job and so am I. I think it would be a fun twist for an engagement shoot.
