The path taken by Melissa and Marc went from the playground to the altar, with a couple stops in between over the span of about 20+ years. When first meeting Melissa in grade school, Marc was so moved, he quoted Eddie Izzard from his "Dress to Kill" comedy stand up show, so Marc could say to Melissa, "I saw you in the classroom today. As the sun came from behind the clouds, a burst of brilliant light caught your hair, it was haloed in front of me. You turned, your eyes flashed fire into my soul, I immediately read the words of Dostoevsky and Karl Marx, and in the words of Albert Schweitzer, ‘I fancy you.’"
…. well not exactly. That show didn’t debut til the early 2000 years and Melissa and Marc met back in the 80s. So it couldn’t have happened that way. And while people don’t really talk like that, it’s how he felt. So the cool, calm, and collected kid that he was, I’m sure it was something more along the lines of: "You’re cute. Tag! You’re it." Then you see Marc is running back onto the basketball court. Whatever it was, it was enough for Melissa and Marc to keep in touch over the past 20+ years, fall in love via letters, phone calls, and the regular visits and have their happily ever after.
Congratulations to our good friends Melissa and Marc! We Love You Guys!!!
